Insomnia and glutathione are closely related. If you suffer from insomnia, it is very likely you have low glutathione levels.
First of all, what exactly is insomnia?

Feeling tired and sleepy but not being able to actually fall asleep,

easily woken up (light sleep) and then not being able to fall back asleep,
waking up too early,
and poor quality of sleep (instead of feeling refreshed in the morning after waking up, you almost feel like you didn't even sleep at all).
The Cost of Insomnia:
Sleep is a time for our bodies to heal, rejuvenate, recharge, and renew. A lack of sleep or poor sleep have many consequences.
Insomnia Can Contribute To:
~Poor performance in work, school, and all daily activities.
~Grogginess, feeling of being in a fog
~Feeling tired and unable to concentrate
~moodiness and lack of patience
~Slower reaction time, which can be dangerous when driving, operating heavy machinery, etc.
Insomnia Increases Your Risk Of:
~High Blood Pressure
~Poor Immune System function
~Weight gain / Obesity
~Poor overall health in general
How can Glutathione Help?
~Studies show that if you suffer from insomnia, you have high levels of oxidative stress and depleted levels of GSH (glutathione).
~Studies also revealed that when glutathione was increased, there was a marked increase in quality of sleep.
~Glutathione is the body's master antioxidant found in ever single cell of the body. Glutathione helps regulate our liver, hormones, adrenals, liver, and the sleep center of our brain!
~Oxidized Glutathione (GSSG) helps induce delta-wave sleep. (Delta sleep is our deepest sleep)
Note: Oxidized glutathione (GSSG) is, very basically, a glutathione (GSH) molecule after it has quenched a free radical. GSH is the ONLY non-enzyme antioxidant that does not itself become a free radical after it has quenched a free radical.

I no longer struggle with insomnia and glutathione was what helped me significantly.
For me, as long as I maintain high glutathione levels I need less sleep than before and wake up feeling energized. My sleep is deeper and I tend to dream more.
